I guess that if I’m honest with myself, I’m a tad fickle. I cave to the flavor of the month, get caught up in hype, and get distracted. Does this make me a member of the great unwashed? I can think of at least one person who might think so. Personally, I’m not so sure. There are definitely some benefits. I can’t say that I’m particularly bored, but at the same time, I have too many unfinished projects. There is a rational excuse for each of them of course. Come on, you do it too.

So what’s a fickle fiend to do? Fight temptation and demonstrate dedication? Put on blinders and charge down the course to the finish line? Maybe, but there is a cool phrase I didn’t say that might be worth considering:

Sometimes the journey is more important than the destination.

Its true that my career as a movie critic has had more starts and stops than a tired old ‘84 Chevy Nova, and my great novel is nothing more than a few notes on this laptop, but they’re still things I’ve explored. I’ve learned a bit from everything I’ve tried and I know myself a little better. Cheesy? Definitely. Wise? Beyond my ears (no, that’s not a typo). So I’m fickle, there are worse things to be. Who knows, maybe I’ll find a true passion some day. I’ve already found one, and I married her (ladies, if there are any out there reading this, feel free to sigh. And if you’re feeling generous, throw in an awwwww. Guys, just stand clear of your screen when you hurl.)

Oh well, who knows what will come up next. I have some ideas, but do I have the attention span to post it? Find out next time…..whenever that is!

I’ve decided that one of the many problems with my site is that I’ve tied myself down to just writing movie reviews. While that is a lot of fun, I have other hobbies that folks may find just as interesting. It should also give me the motivation to write more often. Starting today, Gotfuzz will be fuzzier. Stay tuned…………….

My Blu-Ray library is now here for all to see. Check out the page on the sidebar to see my current list of blu-rays with links to the associated film reviews. I’ll be updating it and reviewing more of the films on the list so I’ve got everything covered. I’ll eventually add a DVD library, but that is going to take a long, long, long time to list! Enjoy.

But I’m actually talking about these: Rating: 5 out of 5 stars That’s right, new ratings stars. The old ones were actually a hassle to maintain. Unfortunately, they also tend to disappear when someone posts a comment, so I’m trying these out. We’ll see how they work. But I can get a little wild. For example:

Rating: 13 out of 20 stars

Now that is the power of a critic. Of course, if I was to write a review for the art above, I’d have to land on Rating: 5 out of 5 stars.

And in case you didn’t know, I’ve got an RSS feed! Its located here (its also available on the sidebar). Also, GotFuzz is officially mobile. Thanks to a cool new WordPress plugin, you can view all the latest posts from your Smartphone/iPhone/PDA/etc. The iPhone display is still a little buggy, but its pretty effective.

Also, I’m going to be trying a few different things with the site. A new banner (hopefully), new rating stars, and of course more new reviews. Ooooooo, and potentially, my first Bollywood review……Drona. Stay tuned.

I think part of the problem is I don’t review movies that I don’t like. And I don’t review movies I don’t like, because I spend the limited time I’ve devoted to this site on movies I enjoy. Not necessarily a balanced approach, but this is my site to do with as I please. I haven’t posted any reviews in the past three months. The main reason is that it takes me too long to write a review. I love my format. I spend a lot of time writing these reviews. Unfortunately, it means it takes me way to long to post something after I’ve seen a movie. I think I’m going to try some new formats over the next couple of months. I’ll see if I can get more reviews in. I’m open to criticism, but in a friendly and honest manner. If you think I’m not critical enough let me know. I’d like to see how many people think I need to be more discerning (my one critic, seems a little perverse and doesn’t really seem to be the type of person whose opinion I would value).

I’ll put up my first attempt at a new format later tonight or tomorrow.
